"Ballad of stuffed Trigger" was the first complete tape by The Residents. The Residents are very protective of it, thus making it extremely obscure. Only one song has been offically released from it, the title track, "Ballad of Stuffed Trigger" (which has appeared on ERA B474 and Delta Nudes' Greatest Hiss".). Bootlegs have circulated of it, and the full tape is 38 minutes long. A older bootleg consists of snippets from this tape and another unreleased tape, "Rusty Coathangers for the Doctor".

This album, as well as three other proto-albums recorded between 1970 and 1971 (''Rusty Coathangers for the Doctor, The Warner Bros. Album'' and ''Baby Sex''), is not considered by The Residents to be part of their legacy, mostly due to its poor quality and lack of any direction or artistic value.

- The snippets are not exactly the same as the original tape versions of the tracks. The version of "Satisfaction" on the snippets have vocals, but the original does not. Also, "Bringing in the Sheaves" is not on the original tape. Finally, the snippets are in better quality.[[Category:Early Residents (1969-71)]]
